By accessing or using ExpenseAI — including our website at expenseai.in, our Android application, or any associated APIs — you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines or policies we publish from time to time.

Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to use ExpenseAI. Users under 18 require parental or guardian consent.
Updates to Terms: We may revise these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you via email or in-app notice for material changes.
Eligibility: By using ExpenseAI, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement and that your use complies with all applicable laws.
ExpenseAI is an AI-powered personal and business finance management platform. We provide tools for tracking income and expenses, managing budgets, generating financial insights, and organising transactions — accessible on web and Android.
Our services are provided "as-is" and are subject to change. We continuously add new features and may modify or discontinue existing ones with reasonable notice.
Available Features by Plan
We reserve the right to introduce premium tiers, modify pricing, or change feature availability with at least 30 days notice. Existing paid subscribers will be grandfathered where possible.
To access most features of ExpenseAI, you must create an account. You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account credentials.

Account Suspension
We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a security risk to other users. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before suspension unless an immediate threat exists.
Account Recovery
If you lose access to your account, use the "Forgot Password" flow or contact support@expenseai.in. We will verify your identity before granting access to prevent unauthorised recovery.
ExpenseAI is built to help people manage their finances responsibly. The following activities are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination and legal action.

We reserve the right to investigate any suspected policy violation and take appropriate action, including cooperation with law enforcement agencies in India and internationally.
All intellectual property rights in ExpenseAI — including but not limited to software, design, brand identity, AI models, and content — are owned exclusively by ExpenseAI and are protected under applicable intellectual property laws.

ExpenseAI offers a free tier with optional paid plans. All pricing is displayed in USD and INR on our pricing page. Subscription billing is handled securely through our payment processor.
When am I charged?
For monthly plans, you are billed on the same date each month from sign-up. For yearly plans, you are billed once annually.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept major credit/debit cards and UPI (India). Additional payment options will be added over time.
Can I get a refund?
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on new Pro subscriptions. Contact support@expenseai.in within 30 days of purchase.
What happens if payment fails?
We will retry the charge up to 3 times over 7 days. If payment remains unsuccessful, your account will be downgraded to the Free plan without data loss.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from Profile → Subscription. You retain Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The price you see on our pricing page is the full price. Taxes may apply depending on your location (e.g., 18% GST for Indian users).

Prices are subject to change. Existing subscribers will receive 30 days notice before any price increase. Taxes and duties are the responsibility of the user and depend on your billing location.

ExpenseAI is a financial tracking and management tool. The AI-generated insights, budget recommendations, and spending analyses are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Always consult a qualified financial professional before making significant financial decisions.
Service Availability
ExpenseAI is provided "as-is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We may experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or technical issues beyond our control.
Data Accuracy
While we strive for accuracy in data processing and AI insights, we do not warrant that any financial calculations, categorisations, or projections are free from errors. Users are responsible for verifying the accuracy of their financial data.
Third-Party Services
ExpenseAI may integrate with third-party services (payment processors, bank connections in Phase 2). We are not responsible for the actions, content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party service. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ExpenseAI and its founders, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any damages arising out of or related to your use of the service.

In any case where liability cannot be fully excluded, ExpenseAI's total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) ₹1,000 INR.
This limitation of liability applies regardless of the form of action — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise — even if ExpenseAI has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. The conditions and consequences of termination are described below.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of ExpenseAI shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India. By using our service, you consent to this jurisdiction and waive any objection to it.
Dispute Resolution Process
Informal Resolution
Before initiating formal proceedings, please contact us at legal@expenseai.in. We commit to attempting resolution within 30 days.
Mediation
If informal resolution fails, both parties agree to attempt mediation through a mutually agreed mediator before proceeding to litigation.
Arbitration
Disputes not resolved through mediation may be submitted to binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (India).
